Disclosers such as EVICÁRIE are materials used to assist the professional in differentiating between affected dentin and decayed dentin in restorative treatments. The affected dentin is not contaminated with bacteria and even though it is a softer tissue than healthy dentin, it should not be removed, while infected dentin must be removed before restoring the cavity.
The action of the product occurs through the red acid dye S52 present in its formulation and the area colored red indicates demineralized and infected dentin.
EVICÁRIE clearly clinically differentiates the infected dentin layer, which must be removed, without pigmenting the other layers or normal dentin.
