DESCRIPTION
Light cured Glass Ionomer Cement for RESTORATIONS– A3.
It is a Hybrid Ionomer cement (Modified by Resin), Radiopaque, indicated for Restorations, it is light cured. Recommended for Restorations in Permanent and Deciduous, Anterior and Posterior teeth.
Glass ionomer is a prominent material within modern dentistry, mainly due to its adhesion and fluoride release properties, making it an ideal material where cavity sealing and cavity prevention are desirable. It is very easy to handle, has excellent aesthetics and excellent mechanical properties. Recommended for elements with more than 50% dental structure. The release of fluorine provides the material with anticariogenic action. It also absorbs Fluoride from the oral environment, continually recharging itself. Provides remineralization of adjacent tissues and recovery of cusp rigidity without dentin support. It has chemical adhesion to the dental structure through binding with Ca ions, and its adhesion to enamel is greater than to dentin. It has thermal expansion and contraction very similar to dentin, which provides no postoperative sensitivity. Due to its high adhesiveness, it does not require the use of additional adhesives. It is biocompatible and hydrophilic, making it the material with the greatest compatibility with the tooth structure. Due to the initial acidity of the cement, in deep cavities it is recommended to use calcium hydroxide-based cements as lining. Fluorine also provides a reduced pH of the material. It is radiopaque and its high density does not allow marginal infiltration.
