DESCRIPTION
Cavity Varnish
VARNAL is a cavity varnish composed of a resinous solution that is insoluble in the oral environment, used as an aid in lining and protecting the dentin-pulp complex. When VARNAL is applied to the cavity preparation, the solvent evaporates, leaving a thin resinous film on the surface. This thin film behaves like a semi-permeable membrane, preventing the passage of some ions. Preventing the penetration of products from the corrosive action of amalgam.
It is of utmost importance to achieve uniform and continuous coverage over all surfaces of the cavity preparation. If the layer is irregular or has pores, the result will not be satisfactory.
