N-Rickert
Description
Endodontic Cement.
N-RICKERT is an endodontic cement used as an intracanal filling material.
The powder and liquid form a viscous mixture, used together with gutta-percha cones.
The setting of this cement results from a reaction between Zinc Oxide and Eugenol, which, in the presence of water, forms zinc eugenolate. Resin improves mixing characteristics and delays setting time. Radiopacity is optimized by silver.
The formulation of N-RICKERT is similar to the cement developed by Rickert, one of the first to be used, and it meets the requirements of a good endodontic cement: good adhesiveness, effective penetration, adaptation to the canal walls (great flow in the first 24 hours), high radiopacity (silver), easy removal (with alcohol), and antibacterial action (eugenol, thymol, and silver).
