Evicárie Gel
Description
Caries Detector for Dentin.
Detectors such as Evicárie are materials used to assist professionals in differentiating between affected dentin and healthy dentin in restorative treatments. Affected dentin is not contaminated with bacteria and, although softer than healthy dentin, should not be removed. In contrast, infected dentin must be removed prior to cavity restoration.
The product’s action occurs through the acid red dye S52 present in its formulation. The area stained in red indicates demineralized and infected dentin.
Evicárie clearly distinguishes the infected dentin layer, which must be removed, without staining the other layers or healthy dentin.
